The Perfect Day

Left home this morning around 7.45 am ,went to Old Buck in my vintage Riley sports car and helped get the Stearman out of the hangar.
My hire aircraft (PA28) had been left outside, it was fuelled up and the morning dew was drying off rapidly in the warm sunshine.
Took off around 9.15 and flew to Woodbridge then up the coast to Aldeburgh where I look around the river and checked my pals boat was on the moorings.
Caried on up to Great Yarmouth then south of Norwich,got back to Old Buck around 10.30,drove home, picked up my boating gear and was down at Aldeburgh before noon, we had a brilliant afternoon on the boat, out to sea and then back up to Iken Cliff on the River Alde.
Now back home, picked fresh vegetables and salad from the garden, nursing a decent G&T and preparing to barbecue some lamb.
The perfect day,it couldn’t get much better than this.

Sadly, it's not so good for very many unfortunate folks around this troubled world at the present time!

Went to Breighton, won the balloon bursting and spot landing, got disqualified, again, had a laugh, got given a bottle of wine as compensation, saw some excellent displays, came home, ran a barbie, drank copiously, nearly fell asleep, troubled the wife, - perfect day !

9am, pick up the neighbour who I'd been promising a trip for ages. An ex Lanc nav on Bomber Command, he hadn't been up in years.
10.30, took off up the Devon coast and bimbled our way to Old Sarum and after one of my better landings, tied up right outside the club house.
11.30, after a nice cuppa headed back up to the North Somerset/Devon coast, across Exmoor, over his house and then back.
Afternoon spent watching #1 son get two wickets during his first match for the seniors while steadily getting 'relaxed' on chilled cider.

Nope, it don't get much better than that. As Lister says, sadly not everyone has the chance of days like this.

Yep, yesterday was a perfect day.
Picked a mate up at 7.30, over to Sheffield, him in the back seat with a camcorder over to Gamston. A few solo circuits and back again.

Spent the afternoon with feet in little Cessna's paddling pool and something equally as cold in my hands, all accompanied by the aroma of burger being cremated (whilst still pink in the middle) on the barbeque. One of the better days of the year.

yep yesterday was good. Yet another one of my flying lessons went under way and i normally struggle with taxying it, but yesterday i felt like im just getting hang of it. This then led to doing a good take off. Then holding the aircraft at 2000 overhead with thermals hitting you so im quite pleased with my progress so far.

Yesterday 20th July the date of My clubs fly out to East Kirkby to play with a WW2 Lancaster bomber. Wow.:ok:

We had the chance to walk round the Lanc watch it being taxied at close range. To be in it whilst being taxied and try every crew position in the aircraft as well as handle the controls. Not bad heh:D

But there's more we aslo had the chance to sit in a MK IV Spitfire handle the controls and have the cockpitl explained to us in great detail.:D :D :D

Why not quite a perfect day, well we couldn't fly there we had to go by car. Why the :mad: :mad: :mad: Weather of course.
