Would anybody at westjet care to share how long would it take to get an upgrade at Westjet if you were hired today. How many aircraft do they have and how many aircrafts are they planning to expand to....thanks

The latest I'm hearing is about 4 years to upgrade based on the current fleet plan which is 94 aircraft by the end of 2008

94 aircraft by end of 08?

Doesn't that seem a bit odd given the numbers now, and those on order? Thats 30 odd airplanes between early 07 & the end of 08.

I hope you are correct, just wondering if that fleet plan is accurate.

As far as I know the fleet plan hasn't changed for several years - we are at about 60ish aircraft now so 10 or 12 per year over the next 2.5 years would be about right

I say close....depending where you are. I have been a WJ'er for almost 3 years, and I am hoping the upgrade is very near for myself and my fellow classmates. New hires can now expect 6+ years, beyond that who can know as our fleet plan is only speculation...and sometimes positive thinking!
Still the quickest upgrade around...well I guess with the exception of AC and their 1 year upgrades for those first lucky 100 hired!
Good luck!
