Just a quick question. How does one become an RT instructor / examiner?

Do you also need to be an AFI / QFI or can a ppl do it with his rt licence and a little more training?

Anybody can be an RT Instructor but most FIs should know how to use the radio so they are in the best position to teach people the practical side of CAP 413!

If you want to be an Examiner you will need a licence and a sponsor - see http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/FORSRG1155.PDF for the application form and that will indicate the requirements. If you find a sponsor and the CAA accept your application then you will need to take a couple of written exams and pass a practical test with the CAA Chief RT Examiner.

Good luck!
