Type Rating SOPs

A little question for you guys 'n gals ...

A friend and I were chatting last night about funding one's own type rating (:rolleyes: ) , and came up with the question ....

"Can you use a certain airlines SOPs whilst in the sim, learning the ropes?"

Or are SOPs a treasured secret to all airlines, and you cant get hold of them for a self-sponsered type rating ??

The specific TRTO will be able to give guidance, if its an airline with TRTO approval rather than a dedicated training organisation then they are likely to use that airlines procedures. Dedicated TRTO will have either the manufacturers procedures or their own interpretation of them probably spun a little towards their biggest or best customer.
