Which are the best Best Airports from a Pilots point...
approach, ATC, traffic, sunset, sunrise etc etc
In Europe, AMS, bar none.
Downtown ain't bad either...:)
411A;
Steady on there my friend you seem to have forgotten about Kai Tak Hongkong. Surely you remember that wonderful visual approach onto Rw13 and what pleasure it was to hear ATC advise the landing direction was the one you most want. Always icing on the cake. Regards,
828a.
Well, 828a, I did mention Europe, but now that you bring it up, KaiTak was a winner, no doubt about it..
I especially enjoyed the old NDB letdown off the CC beacon, for runway 13.
This was eliminated for some reason, don't know why, later on.
The rather long ride at 755msl after low station at CC, towards Stonecutters, across the outer harbor, was indeed an eye-opener for many.
Ah, the good 'ole days.
PS: Reverse thrust after landing wasn't bad either.:ok: :E ...providing the cabin chief was accomodating, and most certainly were.

Tbilisi in Georgia. High terrain, poor ATC, nav aids that dont work half the time, and always strong winds the last 1000 ft.
This has been covered before on one of the spotters forums, but here's my answer again!
London City
Rwy 10
Dusk
Never get bored of it!

Telluride, Colorado here in the states. It is the highest commercial airport in the USA at an elevation of 9078 feet MSL. The airport is surrounded by 14000 foot mountains and the runway itself sits atop a 1000 foot mesa.
Now that is a pilot's airport.
