I have a friend who has flown out of there.

His words were "bugger me its short and pot holed to hell"

I've not been, just passing on info.

Very short and bumpy. It is so rough it's the only place where my baseball cap fell over my eyes as I rotated on take off and I promptly went IMC.

A magic place on it's day, don't knock it until you've tried it (in the right sort of aeroplane)
29/11 is 530 yards, which isn't short.
Maybe there are a few lumpy bits but you can have lumps and bumps at licensed fields, so thats OK.
Unfortunately there's nothing to hire but the atmosphere is friendly and the tea is as good as anywhere.
Setting the QFE involves winding off 40 millibars, so QNH for circuits makes more sense.
Not Yorkshire's highest airfield, but easily the most scenic.
