Im wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on buying a A320 type rating. Where to do it? cost? will it get me a job? I hold a Canadian ATPL and a JAR UK frozen ATPL, No right to work in Europe...6000hrs, no jet time, 34 years old. Currently flying Twin Otter in Africa and i feel like ill be stuck here forever if i dont do something now...
Thanks in advance for any advice...

Try Alteon, They have A320 sims in Manchester, Gatwick, Brisbane, and Miami.

I think an endorsement would cost you close to 30,000 AUD (guess), so I would think carefully before spending the cash.

Good luck.

Go to a US school (NWA, Minneapolis, Florida, ...) for 20 000 or so and then apply for Air Macau.

Dani's recomendation is a good way.

Alteon in Brisbane is booked out with Jetstar training. Their course is very expensive it totals aroiund $40,000.00 Australian Dollars.

Pan Am Academy run courses at NWA North West Airlines Training Centre NATCO( 4 A320 sims on site plenty of training slots) in Minneapolis for around $12,500.00 USD. While your there, if you apply in advance, get it put on an FAA ATP while your ther, sit the FAA ATP exam, must arrange all your approvals prior too through (Alien Student Pilot Program). You can choose between NWA procedures ( for FAA) or Airbus Procedures for JAA ( thru a mob in Europe)which they have now got approval. They also have A330 CCQ for FAA just approved aswell, about a year ago.

While your there, stay at an Extended Stay Motel for around $45 usd a night ( self contained rooms with full size fridge, cook top and microwave etc) if you can haggle a deal with them. Theres a Sams supermarket out the back which you can walk your shopping cart in the motel and into your room and even unload directly into the fridge ( no kidding).

DO a google search for PANAM INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT ACADEMY.
