Had a front row seat watching an EK 330 have a spectacular failure of the starboard engine at rotate out of DXB this morning. All appeared to be very well handled by the crew and good to see they made a safe and uneventful landing.
The fan appeared to glow just before a plume of flame shot out of the back accompanied by fuel and smoke. A significant amount of debris was shed over the runway closing the airfield for about 45 mins.
Well done to the crew and I trust you are now enjoying some well earned beers. :D
