Will have a weekday free in Newcastle soon. Is there any local flying to be done. Local flying clubs to reccommend. Any aviation museums to visit etc.
Thanks, Vansin.

There's only one Aero Club at Newcastle Airport. Generally PA28's for hire but I believe they also have a C150.

Nice to drift north towards Cheviot & the Borders - several well known castles and rugged coastline.
Also west along the Tyne Valley towards Carlisle - Roman Forts etc.

On the site of the old Sunderland Airport (next to the Nissan Factory) there's the North-East Aircraft Museum - may fill in a couple of hours.

I live in newcastle and flying up here is great!! nice coasts, landmarks and the mountainous terrain a little further north. what more could you want? However, its fairly expensive and you have to catch the weather at its best.
