Can any RAFCAA FI tell me if it is "legal" to receive remuneration for flying instruction if you are serving military personnel and have said instruction officially noted as a Station Secondary Duty?

What hourly rate would you suggest if remuneration is OK?

If it's for hire and reward you must have at least a CPL. Being paid and not having a CPL will not stand up in court - if you should end up there!

And as for non-CPL non-FIs conducting so-called 'checkouts' on Club members - and expecting the pilot being checked to pay for the privilege.....

No RAFFCA 'checkout' should be conducted by someone who isn't at least a CRI(SPA) - as all PFA 'coaches' are now required to be - as the pilot under 'checkout' is being obliged to carry a passenger. That is illegal air transport.....

Thanks for the replies.

Should have made myself more clear: I do have a CPL & an FI - but still serving.

Just "curious" if it was OK to receive payment for a Secondary Duty!

Ta!
