This was apparently sent by a negotiating committee member who resigned after a 2/3 vote by the identified individuals of the MEC removed the negotiating committee chairman. A damning assessment of those who voted to remove the chairman.

Lance and Ted,

Your decision to fire John is simply another indication of your short comings on both a personal and professional level. Lance, when you were first voted into your current position I heard you say "the pilot group has spoken", I couldn’t argue with you, that was and is the democratic system hard at work. But what you fail to understand to this very day is that votes don’t make you qualified for the job. Last week at the MEC meeting we, the pilots spoke again, and what we said to you Lance and Ted is that you were not qualified, the majority of our pilots can see that now. The damage that you and Ted have inflicted upon our pilot group in the short time you have both been in office sickens me. I have yet to see either one of you stand up and accept responsibility for anything, anything at all. You’re both quick to blame the people around you, like Jim Bonney, who doesn’t deserve to be in the position, that you and Ted have put him in.

Based on your email to John Coomes yesterday and your continued demonstration of incompetence today, I am guessing that you will be blaming John for something soon. The very fact that you would do what you did to John, who has accomplished so much for this pilot group, at this time, speaks volumes to your inabilities. You are acting like wounded animals that couldn’t care less about this pilot group. Lance, you got angry, like you often do, and acted out emotionally not intelligently. Instead of looking to blame everyone else around the two of you, step up and show everyone that you do care about us, this pilot group and simply resign. Show all of us that you don’t want us to suffer through this recall ordeal.

You have both demonstrated that regardless of who is sitting at the negotiating table, your involvement is destructive to the process. I have to admit, it still amazes me that neither one of you can see that. And that is what makes the two of you so dangerous, you are both incompetent and you don’t see it, even now in the middle of a recall. With that said I tender my resignation from the negotiating committee.

Good thing it's only freight...

The ALPA motto: I got mine, pull the ladder up!

Just joking, of course.
