Can someone please tell me what factores are taken into account in calculating cost index?
Those of you flying B744, A340 ect do you get this index before departure or is a standard used and to what extent does it have a bearing on the flight?

That's 6 words and a slash OBK!

Now for the one word answer, using all of my psychic and fortune telling powers for the year 2010.

The one word is....... FUEL

The one word is....... FUEL

And I still remember a "Flight" mag of the late 50's talking about a certain airlines DC-4 ops and how the fuel cost was such a small % of overall costs as to be almost irrelevant.
How times change.
