A 320 FCOM states that A320, powered by IAE engines, perform a better climb gradient on go around when on CONF3 than on CONF2.
According FCOM 3.05.35 it seems to be true, cause for the same enviromental conditions max go around weight for CONF3 is higher.
can anyone explain me this?
CONF 3 means 22º slats and 20º flaps, MORE DRAG? less excess of POWER.
CONF 2 means 22º slats and 15º flaps, LESS DRAG?.
Does it make any diference for CFM engines and if so WHY?
Anything to do with body/fuselage angle/overall drag?
