flying in africa

Hi, I am about to take a one way trip to africa (from Europe) with my licence, garment and money with the intention to stay there forever.

What would you suggest is the best way to find an aviation related or even flight deck job.

I got 500 hrs. total, 26 yrs old, frozen JAR ATPL, taildragger + short field experience , no type rating

do you think it is an extrem risk to go there without connections?

has anyone of you experiences in africa piloting ? (safari flying, surveillance, etc.)

Just remember that in Africa you shake a tree and a pilot falls out. Its a great place to have some fun and earn whilst you do it.
My advice is to give Solenta and NAC a go first (if you are off to south africa) if not pound the aprons there are many bush jobs out there

Hi

A word of advice. Most of the reputable charter companies in Southern Africa will require you to have at least 1000 hours to drive their twin Aircraft. It is an insurance issue.

Also there ius an awful lot of competion as well. You need more luck than skill to make it in Africa.
