TRE/TRI Route

What is the route now to becoming a TRE/TRI now ? or is it CRI/CRE ?

I am would like to become a rated examiner instructor on the HAwker 125 or citation x, but what is the required route and do i need to become an instructor first at ppl level.

Both aircraft require pilots to hold Type Ratings, not Class Ratings.

TRI/TRE relates to multi-pilot aeroplanes and all helicopters
CRI/CRE relates to single-pilot aeroplanes.

The distinction between type rating and class rating is not relevant. For example, you need a type rating for a Citaionjet but it's a simgle-pilot aeroplane and training/testing is conducted by a CRI/CRE

You do not need a previous instructional qualification to become a TRI or CRI (or IRI, come to that), Part 1 of the relevant course duplicates the Teaching and Learning elements of the FI course.

Details of the requirements and courses are in JAR-FCL, Subpart H. You can try the LASORS reference but that publication is riddled with errors and deals only with the UK CAA's interpretation. There is no reason that you cannot get a CRI or TRI authorisation from another JAA member state.
