Gulf Air meets on-time target during 2001

Gulf Air reports that it has achieved all of its targets for on-time performance during 2001.

According to the company, over 66 per cent of its flights worldwide took off on time and actually to the minute of the planned time of departure, against the targeted figure of 65 per cent for last year.

For departure within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, over 82 per cent of its flights took off within that range, against the targeted figure of 80 per cent in 2001.

"It is a powerful demonstration of Gulf Air's total commitment towards an improved on-time performance and delivery of a quality product for its valued passengers," said a Gulf Air spokesperson. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

How are on time departures calculated? I recall that if a Gulf Air flight was two hours late arriving from Doha for example, and it left within the calculated turn around time it was calculated as an on time departure. Never mind that it was two hours behind schedule.
