Archived Weather

I'm looking to retrieve archived METAR reports for the USA. Anyone have any idea where they are hidden?

Here (http://www.met.tamu.edu/personnel/students/weather/weather_interface.html) is the best I've been able to find. It only looks back 48 hours or so, but includes the choices of many types of reported and forecast wx data. I find this site useful whenever I wish to re-construct the wx data that was available for a particular flight.

If you find a site which archives these data further back in time, I would appreciate it very much if you could post it here.

Here is a link for 8 years of North America METARs

and a link with 30 days archives of worldwide METARs
University of Wyoming - Department of Atmospheric Science (http://weather.uwyo.edu/surface/meteogram)

Couldn't find older archives (except for specific event like the Dec 2000 storm in W-Europe).
