Folks,

I've got a query regarding tyre speed limitations - Anyone know what the approximate structural limitation (speed) would be for main gear tyres on either the 744 or 737 or equivalent Airbus..?? :8

cheers,

BB

It is 225 or 235 MPH. The 744 uses either, depending on version. The big Buses uses 235, the smaller ones 225.

You can go here (http://www.airmichelin.com/pdfs/euPriceList.pdf) to get an idea of what various aircraft types uses. Or you could just have a look at the tyre next time you walk past. It's written on the sidewall.

It depends on what Tire the company use.
I.e.:
B737 H40 X 14.5 - 19 - 26 = 225MPH
B744 H49 X 19 - 32 = 235M

That's ok :) . No harm done. I don't really deal with MPH.

IFixPlanes,

My comments were directed at the Gentleman who obviously knows very little about aircraft tyres.
