I got my commercial with instrament rating in South Africa, Dec last year, a Brit but been working allover the place, did geophysics round africa for last few years, flying between jobs. New comm 200+hrs, flat broke so grabbed the first geophysics job i could, very short notice and wound up in Northern Sasketchwan, from +40 to -40C, but nice country you have here. Sit in the back of a eurocopter, operating a big swinging metal detector.
While i'am here, i dont want to steal you jobs, nor work as a ramp rat, but does anyone know how much hassle to be able to fly here. In UK at cristmass was just a twenty minet checkride. Think can get sport or recreational pilot or something for 45 bucks from transport canada.
Or how much it costs or can recomend anywhere to build some hours here or maybe get a float rating, which would be a lot of fun, or how much for a caravan rating. The company i work for has a caravan in Toronto, I got hired as an equipment operator, but jokingly been nagging them to lend it too me, boss just laughs. Any help or suggestions would be apprieciated, i miss flying.
