Just thinking about the forecast shortage of pilots in the coming years ("You should have been here last week, we had a great party"), does anybody have any idea how many trainees emerge from FTOs around the world each year?

Why does it matter? You should see how many of us old flying f**ts come out of the industry every year! Add to that the increasing demand for pilots (I see 737 builds have now exceeded 5000), then take away number of pimplies coming in, and I think you have a healthy number. Just get your head back into the books mate!
