View Full Version : Night currency for IR holder ?

Don't know if this the correct forum but........

As a holder of a valid multi IR am I excempt from the 90 day currency for night flying with passengers that a non IR pilot would be subject to ? LASORS seems to confirm this is the case, but doesn't say so categorically.

In section A Appendix F on page 58 (of the book its adobe page 78 if you've downloaded it)

"C) as the holder of a licence which does not include a valid instrument rating(aeroplane), fly as pilot in command of an aeroplane carrying passengers at night unless during the previous 90 days at least one of the take-offs and landings required in sub paragraph (b) has been carried out at night;" Lasors 2006

That means as long as you are within your type or class rating 90 day rule (and your IR is valid) you do not have to do a night TO/LDG in that 90 days to remain current.
