SAS management have personal stock in most of the Leasing Companies that own the SAS Airplanes. The old MD 80's used by SAS Denmark and SAS Sweden are leased back for a high sum of money, more than a new 737 from an independent serious Leasing Company.

This way the top heavy SAS Group gives its management a serious extra pay valued at several million dollars a year.

The top heavy company in this way burns up its assets, and the SAS Airline looses money, while again, the Leaders get away with it. It is comparable with what happened at Swissair, Sabena and Enron.

Met60,

This has been suspected by many for a long time. The problem of course is that one cannot make accusations without credible evidence, and that is next to impossible to get hold of. Very interesting.

Are you in the aivation industry or in another field, such as banking/financing maybe??

Pretty sleezy if true. If SAS is publicly held and traded, buy a share, get the annual report and ask the question at the shareholders meeting. Or try to get one of the rags interested.

What are the laws on asset disclosure/inside trading in Scandinavia? I would imagine that they would require a high degree of transparancy

Having lived in Denmark for a few years, I can assure you that Den Danske Mafiosi is alive and well. Most senior management have got seats in so many boardrooms it's hard to count. Good luck to those who dare investigate dirty deals in any Danish corporate body.
