If this is the guy I think he is, he's no stranger to controversy. There is a Richard Lambertsen who is a marine biologist specializing in whale studies. He was fired by University of Florida years ago after Greenpeace questioned the political correctness of his research.. .. ._________________________________________________. .. .Passenger arrested after making threat in Boston, officials say. .Delta jet evacuated, swept for bombs. .. .March 28, 2002 Posted: 3:44 PM EST (2044 GMT). .. . . .BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN) -- A man was arrested Thursday after he told a flight attendant on a Delta Air Lines plane preparing to take off from Boston's Logan International Airport that he had "top secret" information and that "people could be killed," officials said. . .. .The incident occurred at 1:15 p.m. EST after the jet had been pulled back from Gate 34, where boarding had just been completed. The plane was to fly to Orlando, Florida. . .. .The 118 passengers aboard Delta Express Flight 2533 were taken off the plane, said Phil Orlandella, Logan's director of media relations. . .. .The man, identified by a government source as Richard Lambertsen of Florida, repeated his words to officials questioning him, and he was charged with interfering with a flight crew, officials said. . .. .The Boeing 737 was moved to a remote runway where it and passengers' luggage were searched for possible explosives. None were found, Orlandella said. . .. ."They're bringing them back to the plane as we speak," he said. . .. .A government source said the incident does not appear to be related to terrorism. . .. .Both of the hijacked planes that crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11 took off from Logan.

Looks like the "A Beautiful Mind" defense.... .. ._________________________________________________. .. .From an AP news update:. .. .Richard Lambertsen, 49, a marine biologist from Cocoa, Fla., was charged with interference with a flight crew, authorities said.. .. ."He made inappropriate remarks that alarmed the captain of the plane,'' said Phil Orlandella, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which runs Logan airport. "It was not a bomb threat ... He did not have a weapon.''. .. .Attorney Pamela Morris said her client has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. She said Lambertsen believed something was wrong with the plane, after hearing the captain talking about a light on one of the gauges.. .. ."He said 'Look, this is serious, some people could die' -- meaning if the plane went down people would die,'' the lawyer said. "He was fearful something was wrong with the plane and wanted to get off.''

Sounds more like the typical over-the-top reaction of today's paranoid American authorities and flight crews! This mighty country was always close to the edge. It's now toppling over! My personal opinion of course <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />
