I believe someone tried to get a grass strip going close to the Junction of the M25 and A10 at nearby Waltham Cross - might have been stopped by planning issues.
Are you in a microlight? There's a 370m strip a couple of motorway junctions west between London Colney and Potters Bar at the Hertfordshire Flying Club (Herts Flying Club) (http://www.hertsflyingclub.co.uk/) airfield.

That strip is next to the de Havilland museum at London Colney. PPruner BIGFLYINGROB keeps an aircraft there and can advise you I believe.
I've flown from there a few times, although short it's a nicely looked after strip with good approaches. If you can't get hold of him (or anybody else) PM me and I'll give you a number.
