I've got a GPSMap 196 which I've had for a couple of years, and am thinking about buying a 296. I was wondering if anyone kmows whether it's possible to p/x this at one of pilot shops, Transair etc., or if there is somewhere that would be good for advertising it - and how much it is likely to be worth.

I'm not a big eBay fan, so I'm looking for alternatives to that. Any advice gratefully received.

Hi. I would go for ebay. Stick a reserve on it and see what happens.

Also consider putting an ad in the flying mags and the flyer forums have a for sale board there which i have flogged a few things on. Flyer For Sale Forum. (http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=9&sid=ded2e143163d90341e95e5673e6836d8)

But please be realistic about what you exect to get.... My view when selling electronic stuff on e-bay is that if I can get £10 for something I paid £100 for two years ago but will never use again I am better off than not having the ten quid and having the kit jamming up my workshop.

In another two years time it will be worth nothing!

I have actually been amazed at how much stuff goes for on e bay. I am a recent convert so not enough time to be disillusioned by it I guess.
