whats up with all the Baltic pilots in DAT? Lately all (at least most of) the DAT flights in Norway have been flown by crews from the Baltic company "Danu" and their ATR's..

Hi...

Regarding the reply above:

Can anyone confirm that Baltic pilots are carrying out flights for DAT in Norway, ie. BGO-FRO-OSL. Or are they only flying routes with DOT between BGO-SKE?

Read some from when DAT/DOT left France (from eurocockpit.be ):

"The latest "scandal" in the French aviation press was the government's designation of a Portuguese company for the execution of the public service route between Paris-Orly and Agen.
Why a scandal? The Portuguese airline did not have the type of airplanes needed for the execution of the services. To solve this situation, a wet lease agreement was concluded with a Danish company, who further on wet leased from a Lithuanian subsidiary. Eventually, the aircraft (ATR 42) had an engine failure 15 minutes after takeoff, but still carried on, single engine, towards Orly during more than an hour.
All of that raises some serious questions: How are public service lines awarded? Who is responsible for safety oversight in such complex situations? What about responsibility and insurances? Are the passengers well protected? Which is the employment framework for pilots operating in such regimes? Are we facing a flag of convenience?
It is bad for the European aviation industry that such questions remain relatively open. The European Commission is working on the revision of the safety regulations and shall come out with a coherent and comprehensive system where high standard rules are applied and monitored properly and where a level playing field is guaranteed."

SVE,
One isn't supposed to use the PPRUNE fora for advertizing. You have to tell some-one else and get them to post the info ;-)

Apparently the union have lodged a complaint about the LY ATR operating domestic flights.

The route from Skien to Bergen is flown by "Danu" from Lithuenia. Sometimes their pilots fly under the callsign "danish" on FLO routes too. But thats only what I hear, cant confirm anything

From the danish Flight Personal Union website:
14. februar 2006

(DAT have joined the employers association = DAT will in the near future sign a collective agreement)

You didn't miss much - just complaints about a slow employers association.
