I have flown VFR from UK to West France, and I am planning a trip to Perugia in June. Any help/advice about a low level route and Italian ATC and any 'don'ts' would be very welcome.

Did it a few years back, nights stop at Cannes (cheap hotel on airport) then out of Cannes via the published routes to Bastia then Elba direct to Perugia.

That part of the trip was trouble free, the Jeppesen Bottlang was my only flight data sorce and is probably the best for this area. If you can get to Le Touquet you can get to Perugia.

Northern Italy is not to much of a problem for GA but the further south that you go the more they try to rip you off..........keep clear of Sicily they are a bunch of bandits !!!!
