I have just purchased an ICOM A6 and found that it doesn't work with the supplied headset adapter. All I get is a howl when I press the transmit. ICOM have not responded to an email.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you get it fixed?

Until someone from ICOM comes up with a fix I would warn anyone buying an A6 or A24 that there seems to be problems with these ICOM radios and that you shouldn't buy one if you want to use it with a headset.

Lots have had that problem apparently. In fact you'd be better asking if anybody hasn't had it!

PPrune thread (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=200612&highlight=icom+a6)

Flyer Thread (http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=18108&highlight=icom)

Flyer Thread about the A6 being withdrawn (http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=19545&highlight=icom)

Hope that helps!

Yes, thanks for the links, I was aware of lots of people with problems.

I was wondering if anyone had heard anything from ICOM. They have not replied to my email.

I was also wondering what everyone is doing about it.. Just sitting back and waiting? or is there something more we can do. eg everyone sending ICOM emails every day until they respond.

I must admit ICOM have gone down in my estimation. Not so much because they have had a problem but because its so hard to get a response from them.

My post was also intended as a warning to anyone contemplating purchase.
