Hello every body!

My instructor asked me the other day. To describe the sub-align mode... I have no clue and can not find it anywhere!

Never heard of it - being flying the things for 5 years!

I wouldn't worry - Get your own back by randomly opening the tech manual and asking him a question.

FCOM 1.22.30 P46 - under AP/FD Common Modes, sub para FLARE MODE

Align sub-mode
Align is a sub-mode of LAND that lines up the aircraft's axis with the ILS course. It is not displayed to the crew.

Align sub-mode

Align is a sub-mode of LAND also known as "decrab" that lines up the aircraft's axis with the ILS course at approximatively 30 feet. It is not displayed to the crew.

You pilots will have nothing to do soon auto lands, auto braking auto pilots etc etc
