Well, in light of the fact that I accurately predicted that WJ would reduce their minimum hour requirement, why not opine on the state of the industry moving forward. List your predictions here!

1 big one from me:
-Pilot pay will go up in 2006. AC, WJ, and Jazz pilot contracts are all up for negotiation in one form or another next year. Jazz will lead the way with a pay hike as they experience a continued shortage of qualified applicants. WJ will follow, with mainline AC the wildcard. If anything, AC will see better conditions for senior drivers with newhire pay unchanged.

In 2006 pilots will still get $%&^# by training bonds.

When will the suffering end:(

I would guess that salaries in Canada will continue to be depressed and that many will leave the country and go to the third world where the money is right now. It's a sad state of affairs here where we continue to lag the rest of the world in salaries and we lead the world in taxation.

Salaries increase worldwide....except in Canada (http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1311246.cms)

...Air Canada will continue to piss away millions of dollars on Celebrity endorsements, paint jobs, and useless upper management, then they will set themselves up for another round of bankruptcy (around 2009)...

...West Jet will continue to pay poorly, but due to the "cult" nature of their staff, they will continue to have employee support, and they will do quite well, expanding bases eastward by 2007...

...ML will try to start another airline, and some of the dumb-asses who didn't learn from Royal, or Jetsgo will donate more money...

...Pilot salaries will again drop (reason...the dumb-asses from the previous prediction)...

...and finally...Transat will lay off more pilots, just to hire them back in 6 weeks...again.

:ugh: sounds like a pretty good year...
