Does this mean I get the day off?

No Jerricho, it means that all ATC service providers around the world will show great respect for their dear employees.
Pilots will also give us the respect we deserve and not complain when things don't work out as they think they should.
I thought International ATCOs Day was April 1st....

To paraphrase that 80s anti-drugs campaign: Just say no.

Just say no

I would mate, unfortunately thanks to a little greviance that happened here, if nobody else can do it..........it's yours.

That sounds like the thin end of a none-too-pleasant wedge. I'd not heard of that here. Who grieved who to get that result?

Apparantly, if everone in the tower here maxed out every period, there would still be shifts running short. Only about 5 or 6 max out, 5 or 6 don't do any, and the rest fit in between. So you can imagine there is a lot of OT available, but no mandatory requirement...yet.

It must feel good to be wanted!
