Heard on the radio news this morning at 08:00 that a Canadian pilot flying tourists in Tanzania was killed along with all passengers, no details on aircraft type or numbers of souls on board.

You are, unfortunately, correct. A friend of mine who was the canadian pilot, got killed in the accident, so did the 4 passengers. It was a C206.
