This gentleman has recently joined RAF Benson flying club, and the following from our club website best describes him:
Duncan Spruce is a WW2 RAF veteran, Hurricane and Spitfire pilot and ex-POW; he made his first 'assessment' flight from RAF Benson in 1940 and has returned to fly with us. As you will have worked out, Duncan is in his 80s and, although he holds a PPL and medical, he prefers to fly with another pilot. So we are going to travel up to Wellesbourne and back for our first sortie together - I met him last weekend, a very nice old bloke. If anyone wants to join us for a cuppa around 10:30am, we'll be arriving then in PA28 G-BEFA from Benson.
