I'm new to this forum and if this is not the appropriate place to post this msg, please redirect it and I will proceed direct to that waypoint.
I have always wanted try my hand at the commercial airliners and have my upcoming chance to do it on Nov. 07th for 2 hours in a 737-700 NG. I've been flt simming for 8 years and have H.Heinlin's PS1.3a software and the famous PMDG 737NG program.

I was wandering if anybody could give me a few heads-up as what to do and what to expect on a 2 hour adventure. It will be at the Atlanta-Hartsfield airport simulator and since the scenery is better at that airport, I thought about doing take-offs, landings and some abnormals. In view of the short amount of time involved, should I forget the start-up, taxi', etc. and just have them line me up on the centerline with zero winds to start with and let it proceed from there or what??

Can anybody give me an idea of how much effort it takes to pull back on the yoke at VR since I don't want to over-rotate and have a 'tailstrike' on my first attempt etc. and also, I plan to follow the 'white bug' until 1200ft AGL and then select FLCH, bug-up to zero flaps while retracting them and then selecting Hdg Sel and once the crosshairs are reasonably close to perfect, activate the AP without touching the control yoke..

I would also like to know how to approach the landing phase at KATL if anybody has done it using 26R or should I use 26L since it is longer?

I look forward to any experiences that you folks might have had and what I should prepare for prior to getting into the so-called "horror box"..

Any comments would be appreciated as Nov 07 is almost here.

Regards,
noullet

noullet,

You haven't established the circumstances under which you are doing this simulator experience. Are you a non-pilot just seeking a simulator ride for personal interest or are you a professional aviator going for a simulator evaluation as part of an interview process ?

If the former, the instructor operating the simulator will most likely do all the setup and talk you through the experience.

What organization is making this available to you ?
