Activitae.com is testing an interface to a new product from Aviation Digital Data Services. The interface delivers METARS for a geographic region defined by a SW and NE corner; METARS for an extensive list of stations, and METARS for a flightpath defined by waypoint coordinates.

ADDS report that their software is at an alpha stage of development , and indeed it does have a few wrinkles; not the least of which is defining Westerly longitudes as negative. Also selecting 'most recent' data, in all cases, only returns a single result. ADDS are aware of these niggles.

With the proviso that the output is not yet for operational use, I would welcome user observations. The said interface is here (http://activitae.com/airbase/xmlMetar.htm). As with all the YAWS family of products, it is designed for modern cell phone use, but works just fine in a PC's web browser. And as always, YAWS is, and will remain, FREE.

I like YAWS (http://activitae.com/pda) best!
