I am soon starting a 747-200 course and have never used an FMS. I am trying to get ahead of the game and learn the basics of the FMS. Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a suitable training aid. Thanks in advance:ok:

i thought 200's didn't have FMC's, just a basic INS

A few years ago BA retrofitted 15 747-236's with Honeywell FMS's. The company I work for has three, here's a pic of one.

...funny that we see a Boeing 747 flying with a MD11-style ND...

The two beautiful giants found together somehow...

However, other retro fits are different. I know of at least 3 types of FMC fitted to Classic 747s, there may be more. And I've used 4 diffrerent makes of FMC and they're all different.

Perhaps if you mentioned whose 747-200 you are going to fly, you may get a more helpful response. Oherwise you could waste your time learning an FMC not fitted to your aircraft.

Perhaps I have not done my home work, but I assumed the FMS would be fitted. I will be on the 200F for CX:ok:
