View Full Version : Charter - Elstree to Le Havre

A friend (non-pilot) wants to be flown from Elstree (or nearby) to Le Havre one weekday morning in October on business, with a return later the same day (early evening). All costs would need to be receipted. Assume an IR-rated pilot would be required in case of weather.

What's the legal way to do this...charter a PA28 with an IR-rated Instructor? Would an AOC be required? If this is legally possible, what's a likely cost (bearing in mind pilot would have to entertain themselves for the day, or a "double-journey" would be required)?

Any suggestions appreciated.

This should be done as a proper charter to be legal, not only does this mean an AOC holder but also a Twin as it is over water (the CAA are looking at SE over water, but even then it would I believe be turbines, not PA28s). I am out of touch with prices for this but the local Air Taxi operators should be in Yellow Pages.

Twin as it is over water I guess if that's the case, then the price will be a bit higher than my pal's boss would be willing to pay!
But thanks for the reply, fox
