On 29-06-05 there was an accident with a Savannah ultralight kit aircraft in Norway. The kit manufacturers ICP issued a bulletin which includes:

“The Norwegian authorities, who are investigating the causes of the accident, have communicated to the manufacturer that the probable cause of the breakage can be attributed to a combination of the following factors:

-For approximately two years the ultra light aircraft in question was tied down to the ground with stakes and cables, relative to the front strut-wing connection bolts.”

As there are a number of definitions of cable or cables and this statement may have had various combinations of translations involving Norwegian, Italian and English, is this likely to mean:

Steel cable (as in aircraft control cables) or
Rope (as in hemp or nylon rope)
