Sea Harriers cancelled at Leuchars?

Only last week, 4 Sea Harriers were on the flying display line up for the Leuchars Air Show. While a tad optimistic, I reckoned at least one would make it up for the weekend.

Checking the airshow website the day before, I now see no Sea Harriers on the flying line up, only on the static park.

Has somebody been breaking expensive toys down at Yeovilton?:confused:

Shame, seeing as it was to be one of the last few chances to see the Sea Harrier in display at a UK airshow.

There was a SHAR display listed in the show programme, but according to the tannoy neither of the two a/c that departed Yeovilton made it to Leuchars - one apparently had to make an emergency landing on the beach at Sunderland :(.

It was one of the Black Cats, the RN Lynx display team, that had to make a forced landing on the beach and not the SHAR.
