Hi all!

Maybe some of you can enlighten me on the following:

with great interest (and in fact for my academic work) I follow Boeing's efforts to adopt shortended pilot transition courses between Boeing types.

I think they advertise a 15 day (or so) course for pilots moving between a 767-300ER and a 777.

My question is:
Do airlines follow this proposal or do they still do "conventional" conversion trainings that (I think) last about 27 days?

Thanks for the help!

First sector in command B777-200 - 01 July 2001

67 days :ok:

Thanks for the response ETOPS!

Wow, 67 days is not what I expected! Surely that included Line Training as well?

How long did it take you until the Skill Test in the Sim?

May I ask which airline you are with? BA?

That was the complete conversion process from start to finish. Week and a half groundschool, one day for exams then one day extra groundschool to cover ETOPS reqirements. About ten simulator details (which takes about two weeks) then line training which was ten sectors plus final check. All conducted at a leisurly pace with some quite big gaps between each section. Training flights took over a month alone............

Interesting! However, I bet in the US they apply shorter transition courses.

I wonder what the situation is at DL, AA, CO, and UA..
