Yesterday 29 August 2005 at 1500hrs, XS102 Gnat T1 took off on it's first flight after a 2 year repair and restoration project.
Deltajets staff, led by Steve Chittleborough worked almost continuously on the Gnat over the past 2 months and, despite a number of setbacks, overcame all the obstacles to put this beautiful areoplane back in the air.
A few minor snags were evident during the airtest flown by Andy Cubin, but nothing that would prevent the aircraft being displayed at both Biggin Hill and Leuchars, the last two major airshows of the season.
Massive congratulations to the selfless volunteers at Deltajets for their unwavering determination to complete this huge undertaking.
