A question which someone may be able to help me with. If I have a South African Com licence will I be able to fly in the UK as though I have a UK PPL or will I need to do the exams and flight test?

Its an ICAO license, so there shouldn't be any formality - at least for single engine, day/VFR.

You can use it without formality in the UK for private flying. You can also exercise the priviliges of any other ratings on it (i.e. ME rating would be ok as well), though for IFR flight if you have an Instrument Rating you will be limited to flight outside of controlled airspace (much of the UK)......

You are not limited to day either if you SA CPL allows night flight.
