Does anyone know what is happening with the airport itself i.e. the runway, the ILS and ATC?

It is a huge place. The money generated by a flying school won't be enough to even clear the weeds from that amount of tarmac!

Manston and Lydd have the same problem: miles from anywhere. They are at little risk from property developers (which is pretty unique in the UK) so fantastic potential for all kids of things.

A bit like most places in Kent; most people that moved to Kent have never been seen again :O

Shouldn't the non-availability of IAPs and the 4 Tonne limit be NOTAMed also?
And remember as a Tower only service the frequency to call is 119.92, not 126.35.

Administrators put Manston up for sale. (http://www.businessesforsale.com/ft/London-Manston-Airport-PLC-For-Sale.aspx)

2.8km runway, 730acres freehold (plus a couple of airports in Germany and Czech Republic thrown in)
