Hi folks,

Wonder if anyone has any views on the current instructor job market....

Touring with the idea of getting an instructor rating and rather fancy the idea of doing it as a career if it pays the bills but like everyone else are worried about the prospects versus the financial risks so if anyone can give me their opinion I'd be very much grateful.

Cheers,

VFE.

Plenty of Instructor jobs around at the moment. Several schools have advertised and have been unable to fill vacancies. Instructors are being poached everywhere. Difficult to make a living out of basic PPL instructing but it becomes a much more viable career option further up the scale - ie CPL/Multi/IR instructing. There's a shortage of the latter too.

Yep loads of jobs out there VFE. If you then decide you want an airline career you wont have wasted your time. I have heard from ex instrutors now airline guys that their handling skills have been noticeable better than the 250 hr guy because as an instructor it is so much hands on. Handling skills are very important.

GOOD LUCK
