Can anyone suggest a GA friendly airfield in Northern France that would make a good flying club trip. Looking for somewhere different to the normal outing which always seems to be Deauville, Le Touquet or the Channel Islands. Ideally somewhere with an interesting Town or city nearby for sightseeing and good food in the evening.

Avranche???
Went there a few years ago on a club outing.
The town nearby is plesant enough.
Close to Mont St Michelle too, which makes a pleasant ground trip.

St Valery (on the cliffs) has always been a favourite of mine. It recently became un-encumbered from the post-911 ZIT around the nuclear power plant, so keep the circuits to the south!
A very friendly place indeed.

Dinard, get a taxi to St. Malo
Deauville, taxi to Honfleur (Beautiful town)
or even Ostend and go to Brugge.
