I heard a rumour recently about Peter which has now been confirmed in August's PFA Mag.

Sadly, Peter died on July 11th aged 58.

Condolences to family and friends. Our aviation world has lost a character for sure.

A character indeed and, to be perfectly frank, there will be some reading this who can be forgiven if they're thinking some less complimentary thoughts from his senior PFA days.

I hope they'll not mind if I remember a friend with a vitality and thirst for life that infected all around him. In 1977 I took my first steps in aircraft ownership with him buying G-AYGA, a Jodel D117, which we based at Liverpool and, when we got sick of rotating and replacing tyres, Barton. He kicked me off on a love of the cranked winged masterpiece that extends to this day with my 4th, a D120.

Additionally he conned me into visiting a skydivers' drop zone and I spent the next 16 years wedded to that sport as pilot and jumper.

Fondly remembered and sadly missed.
