Is it available?

Hours of opening for Darois - or rather does it really close for lunch (I can be so Northern Europeanly naive at times!)?

Merci

No AVGAS is available at Reims Champagne LFSR, go to Reims Prunay LFQA instead , a much friendlier GA airfield. Champagne is a quasi military airfield.
Most small French airfields close for lunch usually between 1000 to 1200 UTC, add
2 hrs for local time. You may still arrive or depart during these times but wont be able to refuel. Also unless refuelling at larger airfields you will have to pay cash for fuel, around Euro 1.55 per litre.

Prunay is a great field but its customs concession was recently withdrawn and whilst rumours exist of customs being available by very special pleading (beforehand, obviously) I've never bothered.

Champagne - Avgas?

It won't be long before Avgas is more expensive than Champagne with the way fuel prices are going....

Better to use Cava - much cheaper...:p - although I'm not sure the octane rating is quite right for most Lycomings or Continentals....
