Tha game fair organisers are recommending Saltby and are proving transport to the game fair from there.
I don't much care for Saltby's attitude or landing / parking fee scale for this do so am not going!

There is also a gliding site at Langar which is not far away.

As far as I can tell from a quick Google, Langar is the home of the British Parachute School (http://www.bpslangar.co.uk/index.htm). I'm not aware that any gliding happens there at all. It used to be possible to fly in there, as we used it as a stop-off point on the way to Rufforth (York) several years ago, although I'm not sure if that's possible now, as it looks very busy from theri web site. Still, may be worth giving them a call.

Thanks chaps

I too refuse to pay the kind of fee they are talking about. They have also put on a helicopter shuttle to the showground!! I reckon the 3 minute helicopyer flight will amount to my annual flying budget!!

I have managed to borrow a car at Leicester so will be leaving the a/c there.

Monocock,

Nottingham Tollerton is only about 10nms away (as the crow flies). A little bit more via the A52.

Langer (which indeed is the home of British Paracute Schools, so expect lots of meatbombs) is only about 4nm away (but might be a bit trickier by car).

Traffic is expected to be a nightmare for the Game Fair (hence all the helicopter shuttles available).

What are they charging landing fee to take a helicopter into Belvoir?

I have just checked for you and it surprised me!

£15 return....

Cheapest chopper ride ever?

Mono,

I suspect that that might just be the ticket price for the heli shuttle.

Muffin,

The Landing Fees themselves are on a sliding scale:

£40+VAT R22 size
£50+VAT R44
£60+VAT B206 size

And upwards to £145+ VAT if you fancy bringing your Bell 214ST in!
