thanks

NACA rept 354, The Design of Airplane Wing Ribs (http://www.airplanedesign.aero/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=40&func=selectcat&cat=6)
FAA AC 43.13-1 is online too. Chapter 1, Wood Structure.
I have seen ANC-18, design of Wood Aircraft Structures, online so try searching for it.

I don't have the catalogue to hand, but there are a few available from the PFA shop.

Rummage around www.pfa.org.uk and you should track them down.

2DD,

There is a book specifically about wood aircraft construction (can't remember the title though) available from the PFA ( I was looking at a copy at the rally). They also do the Tony Bingelis series which are supposed to be quite comprehensive and cover all techniques.

There's some very useful material on The EAA Homebuilders site (http://members.eaa.org/home/homebuilders/index.html) Look under Building-> Articles -> Wood.

Another useful resource is the Jodel Site (http://www.jodel.com). There's some articles about building Jodels in the Projects sections.

I think that the big problem these days with building wooden aircraft is getting hold of the wood.

I've been thinking about building an aircraft, and came to the conclusion that about all I could afford would be a 2 seat wood plans built: probably a Jodel D18. Then I discovered that getting aircraft grade wood isn't that easy :(
