Without referring me to the ANO, to which I don't have immediate access or LASORs which I didn't find clear:

Can anybody explain simply the difference between holding an FI(A) with an added MEP rating, and holding a stand alone multi engine CRI ?

Thanks in anticipation.

As an FI(A), you are able to instruct for PPL and NPPL. If you add an MEP to your FI rating, you can also instruct on MEPs (for the MEP rating, or for any other training which is done on an MEP).

As a CRI, you are not able to instruct for PPL or NPPL, but you can take an existing license holder, and instruct that license holder for the MEP.
